A “Race” of Many Firsts. . .
Organized by Project Love Run community, and will be held on July 6th with folks "running"* through beautiful, Pacific Spirit Park. READ OUR CODE OF CONDUCT AND SIGN OUR WAIVER BEFORE YOU SHOW UP SIS !
This event celebrates the culmination of our PLR Trail Clinic: Take it to The Trails, and marks a special milestone; welcoming a Black-Muslim Trail Race Director.
With this race we honor our community and its values, emphasizing our "Running in Love" philosophy, a counter-cultural approach to Running that centres connection, to each other + our bodies, and the dismantling of oppressive systems lurking in this Running World. Shifting our orientation of running/racing, and moving away from toxic Running Culture practices like Competition (with self or others), moving towards Celebrating Joy. A race about community, focusing on running as a tool of self-liberation!

*Disclaimer/Note: We like to use quotation marks when talking about running and racing, as we want to acknowledge that these concepts have traditionally felt intimidating and inaccessible to many folks. When we talk about both, what we mean is honouring the many different ways our community wishes to race and run; including making room to go slow, to walk, and to stop at any point of the race and call it a day.
This event will be photographed/recorded for distribution across our social media platforms. By purchasing tickets to this event, you are agreeing to the possibility of appearing on these. If Driving to the race, PLEASE consider local transit /car-pooling, thank you!
