PLR Celebrates you sis, a fun "run" to celebrate radical self-love and running...
On October 31st, 2016 (night of Halloween), we used the theme “Runaway Bride” to officially kick-start Project Love Run. The idea was to encourage women to get rid of all the negativity associated with modern day romance and reclaim control over matters of the heart. Emphasizing the transformative power of love. The theme was a “rebellion” against the culture of lovelessness and all the cultural uncertainty surrounding how to love, what it means to love and be loved and most significantly, how to love oneself. Using the Runaway Bride to symbolize the idea of running towards something greater— a greater love (between individuals, for oneself, ones whole being).
Since our launch 8 years ago we have covered a series of themes that asked us to rebel; to reevaluate what we think of the sport, running culture, how we show up in the running world and for ourselves.
Join us this month as we celebrate 8 years of Project Love Run community.
Run: 5km and 2.5km walk/jog/run to celebrate PLR's 8th Anniversary.
Since we will be using the PLR runaway bride theme, feel free to wear any outfit you feel your best in (wedding dresses encouraged to celebrate PLR anniversary).
Keep in mind... we meet you exactly where you’re at (no need to be a "runner") — just come as you are. And if cost is a barrier— please email: projectloverun@gmail.com, NO ONE will be turned away.
