What we mean by “Run”.

When we talk about running, we like to use quotation marks to mean all the different ways our community wishes to show up for example, walking, jogging, hiking or slow running.

Our space is also open to folks looking for community, to join our discussion and skip out on the “running”. In addition, our programming rejects all conventional methods of training that ask folks to push their bodies to extremes in favor of a gentler, intuitive approach to training that puts the body first. We do this because we acknowledge that conventional running practices were not designed for all bodies to begin with, and their objective is usually something unsustainable and, in most cases, unachievable by most bodies.

What is “Running in Love?”

Running in Love, is a celebration, of all the ways our community shows up in running spaces, be it walking, jogging, hiking and/or slow running. Rooted in radical self-love, we cover themes that ask womxn in running spaces to rebel; to reevaluate what we think of the sport, to think critically about running culture and how we show up in the running world and for ourselves.

Always finding alternative ways "to do" running; while guiding folks to a place of self-loving.

 Our Signature Runs:

FREQUENCY: Monthly
WHEN: Last Sunday of the month (varies in each PLR city)
DISTANCE: 2-5km with option to walk/jog/slow run (or come hang out with community over brunch)

Monthly “runs” to brunch with a unique theme we unpack in small + intimate group settings. At these events we offer womxn the resources— skills and tools—to navigate their running experience, fully conscious of how systems of oppression intersect with running culture and the running spaces they are in.

FREQUENCY: Monthly
WHEN: First Saturday of the month (varies in each PLR city)
DISTANCE: 4km - 8km, with options to walk/hike/jog/slow run (hug trees and walk barefoot on the trails).

Monthly drop-in Trail “runs” meant to ease womxn into the trail running community the PLR way— in honour of our radical self-love roots! When you join SWL you can expect to learn about our philosophy of running, and most importantly, “run” in a way that honours your body.

Training programs + mentorship to BI&WOC women interested in Trail “Running” and “racing”. With this clinic, our goal is to build an accessible trail running community and increase representation of BI&WOC womxn in Trail Running.

Our clinic is less so about performance and competition; and more so about connection—by using a holistic approach to training, we help participants develop strong relationships with their bodies, each other, and the community. This time, we invite those new to running to participate with our 5km program, structuring our clinic so that participants are paired with an advanced runner to guide them through, centering community building efforts (between womxn).
